On 12th Decemberthe Supreme Court ordered that from next year, NEET there will be similar set of question papers and all sets will be duly translated into English, Hindi and other vernacular languages.
This verdict has been made during the hearing of a petition filed against CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION for settingdifferent sets of question papers for students taking NEET in vernacular language.
Joint Secretary of NEETDr.Sanyam Bhardwaj statedthat recommendations have been sent to Principal of Board and Advisory Committee to bring uniformity in forthcoming NEET.
A statement has also been released from the Union Human Resource Minister Prakash Javadekar that “The vernacular question papers for the NEET — the all-India entrance examination for medical colleges — will just be a translation of the question paper in English”.
Henceit can be can be concluded that the question paper of NEET will be same across the country and cross the barrier of language and syllabus of different state boards.
In our opinion question paper will be focused on the content of NCERT, but the equal weightage would begiven todifferent state board or different state board syllabus. So we would like to advise that a student preparing for NEET must read NCERT books as well as own state board textbooks, if NCERT content is being followed in your respective state board textbooks then the use of good reference books is recommended.
Since biology covers ahalf portion of the NEET question paper, so along with the expected weightage of biology in NEET-2018 test paper we have mentioned below the topics where you need to include reference books in your study!
